What Does The Bible Say About Money?

Bible And Money

What does the bible say about money?  I think this is a question many have asked at one time or another.  Economists throughout history have even used the bible to prove certain economic theories.  Also, is the bible opposed to money and wealth?  Does financial blessing prove that God has favor on our lives?  Should we live poor and destitute lives instead?  Each week,  we'll unpack verses concerning generosity, wealth, budgeting, business, saving and investing.  Whether you're a socialist, capitalist or somewhere in between, let's look at the text to see what God is telling us about our finances.  He isn't giving us the message of prosperity gospel or of poverty theology.  He's showing us the abundant wealth we have in Jesus. Let's read further.

Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”

Proverbs 11:24-25 “There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, and there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want..."

Mark 8:36-37 "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul?"

Psalm 37:4  “Delight yourself in the LORDand he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Exodus 20:15 "You shall not steal."

Proverbs 13:11 "Wealth gained hastilyb will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it."
